A gentle, supportive creative kit designed to help children navigate grief and loss in their own time.

I created this kit to support children who may be experiencing the loss of a loved one — whether that’s a parent, grandparent, sibling, friend, or a much-loved pet.

Grief can feel confusing for children. It doesn’t always look how we expect, and often they don’t yet have the words to explain how they feel. This kit offers a calm, creative way for children to begin expressing those feelings — safely and at their own pace.

What makes this kit special:

Designed with emotional wellbeing at its heart, this kit supports children through grief using gentle prompts, creativity, and reassurance.

It recognises that every child experiences loss differently.

There is no pressure, no timeline, and no “right way” to use it — just space to create, reflect, remember, and feel supported.

This kit includes 7 invitation cards designed to gently guide creative expression.

Each card offers a simple starting point, such as:
– drawing a memory
– thinking about someone special
– exploring feelings through colour and creativity

Also included:

– 1 x parent/carer guidance card
– 1 x child introduction card (including how to pick and use the cards)
– A 300gsm high-quality card booklet for creating and keeping
– A memory stone to hold, keep, and offer comfort
– High quality paints for expressive, creative work

All materials are carefully selected to feel supportive, meaningful, and easy to use, helping children engage with the kit in a way that feels safe and natural.

How it works:

Children can pick a card when they feel ready and use it as a starting point to draw, paint, or create.

The prompts are intentionally simple and open, allowing children to respond in their own way, without pressure or expectation.

They can return to the kit again and again — creating new pieces, revisiting memories, or simply taking comfort in the process.
