The Heart Behind Wild Hearts

Hi, I’m Gem — the creator behind Wild Hearts Creative.

Wild Hearts Creative was created from a deep belief that children deserve gentle, meaningful ways to express what is happening inside them, especially when words feel hard to find.

With a degree in Early Childhood Studies and years of experience supporting children and families through childcare, education and family support, I have always been drawn to the emotional world of children — how feelings often show themselves through play, behaviour, movement, creativity and connection long before a child can fully explain them.

As an adoptive parent myself, I also understand personally how important emotional safety, belonging and creative expression can be for children navigating big feelings, identity and life experiences. My daughter — my wild, grown-in-my-heart inspiration — has shaped so much of the heart behind Wild Hearts Creative. Through both lived experience and professional understanding, I have seen how children often communicate through creativity long before they can fully find the words themselves.

Wild Hearts Creative began with a simple idea:

What if emotional support could feel gentle, creative and genuinely meaningful for children?

Not worksheets.
Not forced conversations.
Not simply telling children how they should feel.

But calm, open-ended opportunities for children to explore emotions through creativity, imagination and connection.

Each kit has been thoughtfully designed to support emotional expression in a way that feels safe and accessible to children. Combining creative prompts, affirmation cards and sensory-aware activities, these resources are designed to help children process feelings through doing, creating and reflecting — not pressure or performance.

At the heart of Wild Hearts Creative is the belief that creativity can help children feel seen, heard and understood in ways that words alone sometimes cannot.

Whether you are a parent, school, pastoral team or professional supporting children, I hope these gentle creative tools offer moments of connection, comfort and expression for the children in your care.

For big feelings, big imagination, big expression 🤍
